John discussed why he left a big private equity firm to start his own firm and his career journey that got him there, from cold calling landlords and canvassing neighborhoods for potential investments, to investment and development and the investment philosophy that made his company so successful. Under his leadership, Boundary has built a portfolio of more than seven million square feet through land entitlement, ground-up development, and acquisitions across diverse property types, including data centers, industrial, self-storage, residential, office, and retail assets.

John also described to the students the mission and culture of Boundary and the guiding principles that they live by, since the company was founded in 2014, determination, focus, ingenuity, prudence, pursuit of excellence and building relationships.

The event concluded with a Q&A session and a reception where Wilkinson engaged with Georgetown students.
