Graduate Real Estate Society Fall '25 Career Trek

Georgetown Real Estate Society (GRES) career trek to New York City for a two-day real assets trek, gaining firsthand exposure to a wide range of firms shaping the global real estate and infrastructure landscape.

Earlier this month, members of the Georgetown Real Estate Society traveled to New York City for a two-day real assets trek, gaining firsthand exposure to a wide range of firms shaping the global real estate and infrastructure landscape. The group met with professionals from Invesco, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, Cohen & Steers, CBRE, Tishman Speyer, Jonathan Rose Companies, and PCCP, each providing a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges across the real assets spectrum.

Across these visits, students learned about distinct investment strategies, from core and value-add equity to infrastructure and debt capital markets, and heard directly from practitioners about how macroeconomic trends, capital flows, and sustainability goals are influencing the industry’s evolution. A highlight of the trek included guided tours of 200 Park Avenue and Rockefeller Center, where students had the opportunity to experience two of Manhattan’s most iconic properties while discussing the complexities of operating and repositioning large urban assets.

The trek was an incredible opportunity for students to see how different organizations—spanning private equity, infrastructure, development, services and asset management—interact to form the foundation of the broader real assets economy.

The Georgetown Real Estate Society extends its sincere thanks to all of our hosts for their time, hospitality, and thoughtful insights. Their willingness to share candid perspectives on market conditions, career paths, and firm culture made this experience especially valuable for our members as they continue to explore careers in real assets.
