Announcements
We are excited to share that Georgetown’s Women in Real Estate (WIRE) club has received a $5,000 grant from the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) Foundation as part of their Community Grants Program. The grant will support a range of student-focused initiatives, including a trek to New York City, site visits and industry exposure trips, as well as bringing speakers to the Hilltop. Thank you to the PREA Foundation for supporting student engagement and professional development in commercial real estate, and congratulations to the WIRE student leaders for continuing to build opportunities for their peers.
As one of the first uses of their grant, WIRE collaborated with the Urban Land Institute and the Steers Center to host “Breaking In & Moving Up: An Evening with Commercial Real Estate Professionals.” The event brought together commercial real estate leaders and students for an engaging panel focused on career paths, female empowerment, and professional growth. The evening began with a Q&A where speakers answered questions about their personal journeys, lessons learned, and advice for breaking into the industry, followed by breakout sessions with more intimate conversations and one on one conversations. The event closed off with informal networking, allowing students meaningful opportunities for mentorship. It was an energizing and inspiring event, and we were thrilled to see such strong participation!
