Georgetown Students Celebrate Historic Case Competition Campaign
Announcements
At a celebration on Thursday, May 14, 2026, the Steers Center for Global Real Assets hosted its annual graduation celebration with graduating students from the Global Real Assets (GRA), MBA, and undergraduate programs, as well as their families.
Each year at this event, the Steers Center celebrates three undergraduate awards – James Solomon (SFS’80) Undergraduate Leadership Award, Thomas B. Cooke (L’74, ’76, ’84) Spirit of Georgetown Award, and Michelle Xue (B’19) Outstanding Senior Award. Each of these awards memorialize a member of the Steers community that had an outstanding impact on the direction of our center over time. This year, we also introduced three new awards to recognize graduate students for professional excellence, student leadership, and academic performance.
This year we recognized five graduating seniors for these prestigious awards:
Congratulations to our awardees, and to all of our graduating students, for this magnificent accomplishment earned through hard work and dedication. We are excited to see how our students make a meaningful difference in the world of real estate and real assets as they begin their careers.
Named in honor of Professor Thomas B. Cooke (L’74, ’76, ’84), this award recognizes a graduating senior who exemplifies the values and spirit of Georgetown University. Professor Cooke’s deep commitment to the university, its students, and its community left a lasting impact, and this award was established to honor that legacy.
Named in honor of Michelle Xue (B’19), this award recognizes outstanding seniors who have had a significant impact on the undergraduate real assets program over the course of their entire career at Georgetown University.
Named in honor of James Solomon (SFS’80), this award recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the undergraduate real assets program at Georgetown University.
The Blue and Gray Award for Excellence in Leadership is awarded to the students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership through initiative, influence,
and sustained impact on the program and its community.
The Steers Standard of Excellence Award is awarded to the student who consistently operates at the highest professional standard and delivers exceptional results across academic and applied settings.
Named for Andrew Ellicott, who surveyed the original boundaries of the District of Columbia (1791-1792) and played a key role in the city’s planning, this award honors the GRA student who demonstrated well-rounded academic performance throughout the program.
